AAWP 2019 Scientific Conference

The Executive Board is pleased to announce that the next AAWP Scientific Conference will be held at The Scottsdale Plaza Resort in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona.

Framed by Camelback and Mummy Mountain, The Scottsdale Plaza Resort features 40 acres of flowering gardens, elegant Spanish-inspired architecture, and nearby shopping in Old Town Scottsdale. Blur the lines between business and leisure with pampering spa treatments, five swimming pools, tennis courts, championship golf, and local Southwestern cuisine.

The conference will be held Thursday, September 19th - Sunday, September 22nd, 2019.  Registration will open January 1, 2019. The schedule of events and lectures is currently being planned to allow for more spa time, and relaxation under the Arizona sun to enjoy the stunning mountain views. It is sure to be  a relaxing and educational conference experience! William L. Goldfarb Foundation

The 2019 Meeting of AAWP is a joint providership activity with the William L. Goldfarb Foundation. This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the standards and requirements for approval of providers of continuing education in podiatric medicine through a joint provider agreement between the William L. Goldfarb Foundation and AAWP. The William L. Goldfarb Foundation is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. The William L. Goldfarb Foundation has approved this activity for a maximum of 15 continuing education contact hours.

Hotel cancellation policy: Notification of change/cancellation must be made 48 hours prior to arrival date.  If notification is not received within the policy, all room nights within the 48 hours will be charged room and tax. Any guestrooms that no-show on the day of arrival, the hotel will charge two (2) night’s room and tax to the credit card on file for the individual reservation or the master account.

The didactic portion of the conference will encompass up to 15 CECH in a relaxed setting with breathtaking views of the mountains and fragrant desert gardens. Premier podiatric speakers will be featured covering a range of engaging topics. Later afternoons and evenings will be reserved for spa treatments, leisure and enjoyment with your colleagues, friends, and family. Clinical Conference Lectures Thursday - Sunday September 19-22, 2019

AAWP Executive Board is pleased to announce that our conference attendees have been invited to tour the ArizonaAFO manufacturing lab in Mesa, AZ as a kick off event for our Scientific Conference.  Those interested in this unique opportunity should plan to be ready to go at noon on September 19th. Mesa is about a 30 minute commute from the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.  Transportation to and from the lab will be provided at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.

All braces manufactured at ArizonaAFO are custom made and the tour will include observing each of the steps that the technicians employ to create a device.  Observing how the braces are manufactured will give attendees a better understanding of the options you have for the treatment of your patients.  If you have never been in a manufacturing facility you should take this opportunity to do so!!  The tour will be led by Don Pierson, the Vice President of ArizonaAFO. Don speaks nationally and has served as a Director on the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics.

If you would like to join us for this event please make your travel plans so that you can leave the hotel by noon on September 19, 2019.  Sky Harbor Airport is 25 minutes from the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.

12:30-1:00 Welcome and Lunch
1:00-2:15  Tour

3:00 Arrival back to the hotel.

Cancellations must be in writing. A nonrefundable $50 administrative fee will be charged for any Conference registration cancellations. No refunds for cancellation notifications after August 19, 2019. There will be a $30 charge for all returned checks.

AAWP is unable to assume risk or responsibility for the exhibitors’ and/or registrants’ time or expenses should an act of God, government action, aviation disruption, disaster, weather, or other force beyond the control of the AAWP make it inadvisable or impossible to conduct this event.
